patriotCTF is Mason CC's first Capture the Flag (WTF is that?) hosted at GMU. Like all CTFs, it will feature challenges in cybersecurity that stretches the existing skillset of hackers while encouraging learning. It is a team CTF in which teams of five strive to answer a series of challenges in topics like forensics, web exploitation, reverse engineering and more. Registration is open.
Historically our membership has created dozens of challenges for one another, as well as have had a large amount of success in competition, especially in DFIR, web and reverse engineering, and look forward to spending that skillset on the entertainment of others. We hope to make this a challenging event. Some more basic problems will exist but so will some of the hardest ones we've come out with. GMU students curious who may lack the necessary skills are welcome to swing by Mason CC and talk, but there will be a variety of challenge difficulties including some less advanced ones.
