Add ability to show unobtrusive alerts which will be added in the upstream API

Helpful link up front

whats-open#41 (closed)

Actual things to do with the issue

To be clear, this isn't quite relevent till whats-open#41 (closed) actually has action taken, but would be nice to start building up the framework to be able to display alerts of some kind in a non-agressive way. I'm far from an android expert though, so if @ehasan3 could kindly kick some words around that make more sense than me, that would be awesome.

Mainly, I'm no expert on Android iOS implementation. But there is going to be an alert object added to the api, and there needs to be a way that it gets to the end user in a not obnoxious manner.
